What I specifically said was Word for Mac wont save, save as, or save as template meaning its not saving period - anything, anyhow - when I click save, save as, or save as template I get no response, no directory, no menu, no dialogue box. This may be normal for a new file that has not been saved yet?Ħ. The General tab fields (type, location, etc.) are also blank. Then I check the File Properties, and look at the 'Statistics' page for the 'Last Saved By'. The drop down window goes away, the file name at the top of the Word screen stays on Document 1, and it is not saved to My Documents folder.Ĥ. I have also tried using 'xx.doc' format as well. Go to 'Save As', and then in the drop down window I enter a generic file name. If this helps, these are the steps that I have tried:ġ. I followed Jim's advice above, and the Disk Utility First Aid scan result was an all clear. Unfortunately after running updates for both the MacOX and Office for Mac, the same problem has reappeared. After a number of hours of trying different things, and constantly running manually prompted updates for both the MacOX and Office for Mac, the problem just disappeared.
